Everyday is special.

You do not need to look too far to find romance within the everyday.

Over the month of March The Modern Woman's Survival Guide, together with their readers, have been bringing out their romantic side and adding a touch of luxury and romance to the normal days making them fabulous!

There are so many simple things you can do at home to help you feel extra special and remember; when you give love, you receive love.

Here is how Gaynor Alder (editior-in-chief of the Modern Woman's Survival Guide) spiced up the romance in her every day:

But of course, just visiting the website is like adding romance into your day as it is filled with beautiful words, pictures and inspiration. If you do not follow her already do so now.

And here is my humble attempt. (photos in no particular order)

I had no idea we even had roses in our garden until they sprung out of the weeds one rainy day.
New shoes will make any girl feel special!!
Cat sitting for a friend, animals help lift your mood and soul :)
Chocolate is a girls best friend.

Birthday cocktails at the roof-top bar.
Finding special treasures amongst a store filled with beautiful things.
Me and Betty spent one afternoon making brownies for my roomates, yum!

MOR has gorgeous candles that look and feel every bit of luxury.
Escaping to the Hinterland to visit the Winery is among my favourite things to do.
After the afternoon storm the bustling suburb is quiet as a rainbow emerges.
Just a simple morning in the garden.
Some times, it's easier to stay in bed with a good magazine and a hot tea.
I romanced my face with a touch of heaven thanks to Lancome.
And a month is not complete without buying a beautiful Tree of Life dress.

I hope you all take the time out of your busy days to soak up some romance.

Always the way... new skin care routines

I want to know... after you finish a product, do you tend to stick to it and repurchase the exact same (brand and product) or do you try something new?

I just finished off my daily face wash, the Clearasil Ultra Rapid action daily cream wash, which I have been using morning and night for some time now and I am in a bit of a dilemma as to whether I should stick with this face wash or go ahead and try something new. I have acne-prone skin so I am always on the lookout for products that will soothe my skin but if I purchase another product then I am stuck with it for a while so I want to make sure I like it. What do you guys think, do you stick to the things you know and love?

A quick run-down of the product:
Its a thick, creamy wash that is suppose to help clear your skin in up to 12 hours. When I initially started using it, I noticed results the following week that my skin had started to clear up and my pimples were less severe. I was fairly happy with it but I think as I continued to use it, the product lost its appeal and my skin was not as clear as I would have liked (but of course I wanted to use it up completely).

So advice time... let me know what you think?

Is it Love or LUST

A quick blog post I wanted to share with you about things I am loving and lusting over this week.

When I should be studying and researching on the internet I sometimes get distracted if I see a fantastic clothing item advertised on a brands facebook page. So of course that means I must check it out immediately.

So first and foremost I was in David Jones the other day and I found this fabulous brand of jeans and I tried them on and they were heaven for my legs.

The brand: Nobody and they were like 95% cotton so they felt super soft. My sister talked me out of the $180 price tag, but boy was I tempted. How much is too much for jeans??

One serious investment peice is this stunning bertoia leather knit wrap jacket from Oroton. I could never afford it currently but I still like to dream.

I was so close to buying this fabulous skirt from Gorman Online. I love the style, cut, length, print but not the price tag.

And finally a little bit of beauty, I am loving this new Pure Colour range by Estee Lauder. The colour is beautiful and would work well for both day time and night time wear.

Is there anything your craving this week?

Romeo Take Me

Everyone's favourite Golden Girl, Taylor Swift, stopped in Brisbane for two nights on her spectacular 'Speak Now' World Tour.

Last night, Taylor put on a fabulous live performance with her vibrant personality and friendly nature. She pranced around in her many dresses for the night and played upon her many guitars.

I just thought I would share some of my (poor quality) photos with you.

I went with my sister and friend and aside from the girl next to us who was straining her voice screaming the song lyrics in my ears, it was a 'sparkling' night.

Strip down and Shape up

I am not a huge nail-beauty buzz; I usually just stick to nail strengtheners and clear polish with the very occasional colour coat if I am going out. This product may actually change that for me however. Enter: Glamnails coloured enamel strips by Manicare.

When it comes to having a steady hand to paint nails I am such a clutz and usually end up with polish all over my fingers and the carpet. With this great product you will no longer have that problem and you get the perfect finish every time.

Included in the pack are 16 double-sided separate nail strips and they come in two rows of 8 pairs and a small nail file.

To use: Work with the pinky first then move on the thumb last. Choose the best fit size and remove the top clear film.
Then remove the back paper strip and line up the base line to your nail base; press down firmly and rub over entire nail.

Crease over-hang and file off excess. And there you have it… easy-as! It will take some time to get the hang of it but the results are truly professional.

The results: A shiny, smooth finish with perfect edges. Need I say more! I tried the colour Red Velvet (no.9) but they come in a variety of 15 different colours including two French nail enamel strips.
One small thing I did notice however is that it takes a bit of time for the strip to completely settle on the nail. Even then I noticed the edges were sticky up a bit and starting to crack. However, after I applied a quick clear top coat to the tips they did not budge.

On the pack it says they last up to 14 days. I did have a few chips on the first day but they were very minor and I guess I am not used to wearing nail polish so I was not taking any care to avoid hitting my nails on the kitchen bench.

Removal is just as easy. As the product is 100% nail polish you can easily remove all traces with nail polish remover.

I would highly recommend this product for anyone going to a special event or party as they have such a fabulous finish and come in a wide variety.

I think I will try the glittery gold colour next. :)
